Interior bonnet realease

Hi all,

First time posting so appologies if im not in the right place.

Today i went to open my bonnet from the red leaver under the stearing wheel and it is refusing to open the bonnet when i pull it, it feels like it shouldn't move as its tight and feels like i will pull it off or snap it.

Any fixs for this or other ways to open the bonnet?

I have had this with other cars try pushing the bonnet down and have some one pull the leaver or use a pair of pliers to pull on the cable. Let me know how you get on good luck.
