Just had the parking sensors installed. The fitter noticed that my interior trim on left side near side- sill ws not fitted porperly. it could have been removed for some purpose. Why would the dealer remove the interior trim........repair .damage ? The sensor fitter inserted it back easily but the trim was not replaced correctly by the previous owner or dealer.

Bought the car from MB dealer. Any ideas.

are there any other options fitted to the car . . . CD Changer etc ?

Lots of reasons why people might want to access the wiring in the sills . . not sure how it fits into place on the W211 though - also not sure exactly which bit you mean !

s.

I've removed quite a few bits of my trim, whilst hard wiring the road angel and when the bluetooth car kit was fitted. See here. There are also a couple of bits of trim that have come loose on their own.

The car doesn't have a Cd changer or other fitted options. What i was concerned about was a slight 1cm lined crack in plastic running alongside the bse side sill. parrellel to door trim.on bottom of front passenger door area. I spoke to dealer not where i bought it but local dealer and he says it will only be replaced under warranty if there has been no accident.

So a bit worried if it turns out to be an accident but unlikely i guess.

Have a look at the "Tracker" thread in electronics. You too might have one fitted that you didnt know about.BTW, what sensors did you have fitted, what are your thoughts on them?

Tracker..I think i will be installing that soon.... I'm sure the dealer should have mentioned it was an option to get more money so can't see why he would miss it off.

I had the Third eye parking sensors installed for £233 inclusive of fitting with 2 years warranty. They haven't let me down yet. Tried them out on a couple of cars got to within a foot and gave the other parked drivers a shock...."Oh no that Merc is reversing right into us." They work quite well so far and are painted with colour code of the car obtained from MB. The job looks professional. Any isses going straight to JCT600 and getting them to sort it out. Dont need the front ones for now. I think MB parkatronic is probably sensitive to 15cm.

Yep I've done that with parktronic a few times, I've had some very worried looks as I've reversed right up to people's cars. 15cm sounds about right.
