Hi guys, newboy here,just wanted to say hi. About to take the plunge on monday and buy my 1st MB. Year 2000 c180 with 50k on it. Any risks??

I would say the only risk is that it might not be powerful enough- make sure you are happy with the performance on the test drive, otherwise a C200 would give you a bit more oomph.
