iPhone 4, no sounds coming from phone

As the title suggests no incoming call alert or keyboard sounds. Speaker is fine as it works on you Tube etc, all settings areas they should be so any genius out there with a quick fix

Try switching off and on? Or a reset?

If I do a reset will I lose any apps, contacts etc or will it just be the personal settings

Back it up in iTunes then do a reset and then re sync, you should keep all current content, a record of your apps are stored in itunes

Not if you do the correct one!

Just tried a reset to no avail

Thanks Whitenemesis problem sorted. Apparently the phone was dropped and the silent switch "must have bounced down". Thanks all for your help
