iPhone 5 and CLK cradle

I am trying to get my iPhone 5 to connect to my existing iPhone4 cradle, using the MBUSA/62872 code, but it keeps showing 'connected' only to rapidly change to 'not connected'.
I don't need the cradle to charge the phone, so I am not bothered about buying an expensive new cradle, so would prefer to get the old cradle to connect....any ideas out there...?

How long are you waiting? IIRC the phone connects then disconnects in order to download the contacts. This could take a while, after which it will reconnect.

Thanks - I didn't wait at all, just assumed that 'not connected' message indicated a failure. I have quite a few contacts, so will try again and wait for a decent period.

just give it 15 minutes and still wouldn't reconnect....

Thats because its a cradle designed only for iPhone 4 and 4S

It disconnects once it gets the phone type and realises its not a 4/4S. Same behaviour if you try and pair it with a completely different phone.

You'll have to wait for the iPhone 5 cradle - and there's no date announced :-(

Or use a generic adapter such as Mercedes HFP or Viseeo MB4

Or buy a 3GS cradle, the Iphone 5 will pair to it via bluetooth.
