Hi All
OK i have just purchased myself my first MB :D
W210 Facelift e200, 2001, 56k on the clock delighted as i am there are a few changes i want to put in place.

first and most important i am fitting and installing my iphone with a carcomm Iphone kit (http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=151909) this comes with normal red and white phono cables.

Can anyone tell if the Audio 10 (tape deck with cd changer) radio has the ability to plug these in and if not if i change the head unit to an alpine or the like will the cd changer plug into it and sterring controls work?

Cheers

The audio 10 head unit does not have phono inputs on it. If you change the Head unit to an alpine there is a good chance the CD changer will work with it as these earlier changers were made by Alpine. Howwever, your steering wheel controls will not work.

To have an integrated solution which works with your MB head unit, steering wheel controls and allows you to retain control of the head unit and CD changer with the steering wheel is to install a Mercedes D2B phone pre-wiring kit and a suitable cradle which in your case for the iphone on this car would be a Nokia 6310 cradle witha Viseeo bluetooth cradle in that.
