Text messages are no longer downloading onto command for some reaso. They were working fine until a couple of weeks ago. Iphone 14 with everything selected (I hope) as it should be but even the message icon isn’t lit up as an option on the screen. I’ve tried removing the phone then reconnecting but still no joy.
Any ideas ?

Is “Show Notifications” still on in the phone’s Bluetooth connection profile for the car connection?

I've just noticed that's no longer an option on my phone for MB Bluetooth however it is an option when I connect to the wife's Ford. Rather strange

That's most odd. I'm on iOS 16.5 on a 12 Pro and the “Show Notifications” is present for the connections to both my MBUX A220 and my wife's NTG 4.5 SLK55.

It's absence suggests that the particular BT protocol required hasn't been invoked when you created the connection to your car which implies that the car didn't call for it. Although it will lose any personal POI's, navigation history and anything you've loaded in the music register, I'd be tempted to do a factory reset on the COMAND unit and then try pairing the phone again.

The problem seemed to start about the time I did an Apple update a week or so ago. It definitely seems to be the phone as the “show notifications “ option is completely missing but only on the MB connection. A trip to the genius beckons

Contacted Apple and done a few tests. They’ve concluded that the Comand needs updating as their latest iOS 16.5 mustn’t be compatible with the unit anymore. I don’t know if that’s correct or not but my firmware wouldn’t have been updated for at least a year

Did you manage to fix this issue. Facing same problem. Thanks
