Hi everyone, I have just joined having ditched my Audi A6 when its multitronic gearbox became terminally ill, replacing it with a 2007 W211 E Class Executive. Its a much better car and Im very pleased with it. I do have a problem with the stereo however.
My Audi had a Connects2 unit feeding the output of the bottom connector of my IPOD Classic into its Concert head unit, which worked very well. I am trying to arrange something similar in my Merc which has the Audio 20 Cd head unit and 6 disc changer underneath. It has the MOST system with factory phone connection to the armrest.
My ICE expert has attempted to connect the Dension Gateway Lite but it wont work because the head unit does not recognise the changer. When the CDC button is pressed it displays the message " NO CDC" It has been tested on the STAR system which does not recognise its existence. I understand that this suggests an electrical fault. Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously I dont want tospend money fault finding and fixing a changer fault when it will be made redundant by the IPOD.
I am also considering a Comand mCar unit which is pricey but will feed digital signals to the DAC in the head unit so sound quality will be optimised. The chaps at Comand say that the CDC fault should not prevent its installation.
All helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated, thanks.
