hi ive plugged my ipod in through aux on audio 20 and it wont go above a certain volume would this be because its in the aux and into the 3.5mm jack on ipod??????the ipod is turned right up!!! or is it what u get for being cheapskate and not getting ipod kit for the car???

any ideas anyone???

cheers

similar problem with comand on mine - although i get different results depending on whether i use the nano, classic or iphone

no volume limits set on either ipod

gives you a bit of a shock when you switch to the radio!!

I am off to work so don't have time to do it but try an Advanced Search on this forum. I'm sure this has been discussed before at length and would probably have involved members Alfie and/or Richard of ComandOnline

SoundCheck = Off

Hi

Try switching off Sound Check in your I-Pod/I-Phone settings. Apologies if the I-Pod has no such setting. I use an I-Phone 3GS so it is:

Settings > I-Pod > Soundcheck.

Regards

Bruce

This works on my iPhone 4 too. It was really quiet before i turned off the soundcheck, now it's the same level as the radio.

yeah mine is iphone 3gs and went into these and they are off, i mean it is quiet its quite loud but if theres a good song and you go to turn it up that touch louder it just doesnt get any louder!!!!

so it seems like thats the loudest it goes however you go to a cd or something and thats louder than the ipod! so maybe thought it was because it was 3.5 jack. however didnt want to spend another 200 odd quid on proper ipod setup and it makes no difference!!!

cheers

On all the ipods/iphones you need to go into the settings and the is a volume limit setting, you need to turn this up to max and save this. That should sort your volume problem. if there is no volume limit setting it means the ipod needs a software update as all the later updates have this facility. Apple has a FAQ on this. Apple - Sound and Hearing FAQ

hope this helps

yeah it has volume setting, however this is on full and stilll doesnt make any difference, as far as previous cars go never had a problem with volume wise and aux etc, so its not the case its through the headphone jack then????

cheers

The AUX input is notoriously quieter than the reguler sound feeds such as Cd and radio.

Make sure you have your EQ off too, this reduce levels, by that I mean if you want BASS BOOST, it cuts the gains across the mids and highs and reducing overall gain by around 20%.

The iPhone 3G and 3Gs are very quiet though, annoyingly so.
The iPhone 4 is far louder.

You can by an inline booster from ebay, tiny thing that runs on a rechargable battery that you charge with a usb cable.
They are around £15 and double the volume no problem, and sound good.

I can't find a link but I will check my pc in the office tomorrow.

Ok cheers, I'll have to get one of those then if u can find the link. Cheers
