Had a look at 'Euro car parts', but the Lion battery they do is very under specified though cheap, and the Bosch one they list which does have the same spec as my current 'Varta'. they are looking £220! May give Mervyn a call under your recommendation, and yes, the area you suggest is correct :) You got those chrome mirror covers yet?

I got the bigger Bosch the s5 for £120 or something like that with a code ., they have 35% off tonight with code end35 .Yes but I resprayed the mirrors so don’t know wheter to fit them. It’s all money I had to order 4 new brake disc and pads there now too using the end35 code saved me £47
Had you a nice blue Merc at a time

I will keep an eye out on their discount code and see if it goes up (with my luck, it'll disappear though!) As you have just resprayed your mirrors, you could look at putting the covers on as a protective measure, knowing that if you get bored with them, you can remove them there''s a pristine finish underneath. As for me having 'a nice blue Merc', gosh no LOL I have a 17 year old rust bucket made of the same steel that Heinz used for their baked beans range!

Still lovely car the battery code was part75 but it might be expired. You’ll see me about my Reg start s7 , it was Stephen mawhinney who changed my front bush’s etc.

In changing battery in 07 w211 320 cdi , is there any need to put a 12v feed on the cables so there’s still power to ecu ,while I remove the old battery or is that just in newer models.
And all I need to fix is the clock

Just to update , fitted battery today , excellent what a difference , quick turnover instant start ,
Yet my old battery when topped up was reading 12.5 v so it shows it was all to do with the CCA , very glad I went with the high CCA on the Bosch s5 .
At least not only is the car cranking over quick and starting quick I have learnt from this thread mainly about the importance of the cca and not to just trust the reading of a battery without checking the v while turning the engine over

Cool , surprising results when testing a used battery for CCA , always down on new original spec .
