Even that had its main drive motor made in Italy..............

Designed by Lotus and made in the Hoover factory in Wales.

I can remember when they first went on sale in the Electricity showrooms. I think they were £399 basic which in 1985 was not a small sum of money. I saw a few driving around around London, one up the Tottenham Court road at the juction with Euston road. Dangerous would be putting it very mildly.

Morris minor for the 21st century??

I always had a feeling that the latest Nissan Micra was a 21st century re-incarnation of the late lamented Morris Minor. Same slightly upright anonymous stance-jelly mould shape-lots of curved panels-cheap to run and maintain- reliable transport- beloved of driving school instructors everywhere-made in Britain-sort of car.:bannana:
