Dear All,

good afternoon, I'm Colin and I'm going to look at
this tomorrow.
Is there anything I should look out for, please?

It'll be my first Mercedes if it pans out OK.
My thought is that it's fairly strong money for an early car,

regards,
Jet

No idea mate sorry, but it's lovely.

I don't follow CLS63 prices, but it's an epic powerunit :thumb:.

It has the best body colour, so yes it will be fine! ;)

j & d,

thanks for the enthusiasm :)

I just don't get white, black or silver. The grey appeals. I've currently got a yellow Monaro so maybe I'm odd.
It will be traded in/sold for the CLS if it's good and a deal can be struck.
Yes, I've had a 6.3l itch for a while and the CLS is to me the most handsome install of same,

regards,
Jet

Hi,
Have to agree regarding the price being a bit strong, though this will depend on how much they are prepared to give you for your Monaro, as they seem to be making quite good money.
I was looking at buying a CLS 63 but thought the 55's were a better proposal, cheaper to buy, cheaper road tax (majority are anyway), and maintenance such as discs/pads are very much cheaper.
If I was looking at a CLS 63 again, it would have to have absolutely impeccable history, the gearbox changes gear smoothly, condition of the discs and pads (expensive to replace), and no unusual top end noise from the engine.

Colour looks great - not so common.

Agree with Andy - car does seem a bit pricey bearing in mind it is 9 years old...

Where's the Mercedes star gone from the engine cover?

Check if it has Full MB service history, it states 7 stamps so may not be full.

Enjoy looking at the car, I can't offer any advice on that but a yellow monaro got my attention. Having taken one round Thruxton I was hooked on the engine note, i'd be interested in knowing more if it is visually standard and in good order.

Are you looking up the plate on the car (R16AJL)?

I wonder if it has already been transferred onto another new replacement car which might explain the discrepancy...

All,

many thanks for the feedback, and warm welcome.

evdok. (if you're up already!) what check did you use against the reg?
Private plate is not included and dealer said the car was a trade in against a C63. As JohnEBoy suggests maybe the previous owner transferred the plate onto that?

Missing star you say, SimonM, is that at the front of the cover leaving a hole over a brackety thing (technical term :) )?

regards,
Colin

Probably be worth getting the plate the car is on now but I suspect it will check out once you do (assuming again, they have actually already transferred the R16 plate off - which would make sense as you don't want to sell it with the car if you intend to keep it of course!).

R16AJL is now registered to a 2007 CL63 AMG not a CLS63 AMG.

Deal done. Picking it up next week.
Look out for the Monaro coming to an Elite Car dealer soon abecketts!

regards and thanks again all,
Jet

Deed is done.
Home and it even fits in the garage, I wasn't expecting that. With interference parking to the back wall there's about 3cm to the garage door skin!

Lucky I'm a (moderately) skinny chap :)

regards,
Jet
