That's it, I'm no longer a BMW owner as I sold my M6 yesterday. Now I'm car-less until MB Birmingham let me into my new C63 - which they are still insisting won't be until 30th September

I'm off on holiday to LA and Vegas this evening :D so that takes care of a couple of weeks but I'm going to pop into the dealer on my way down to Heathrow this afternoon to have one last ditch attempt to talk them into letting me into my car when I get back from holiday.

The dealer insist that they have to have it for the full 3 months as a demo in order for them to get the discount from MB but as they have guaranteed not to let the car be used by anyone else now I've bought it, I'm going to suggest if they let me have it a couple of weeks early, they can keep the log book until the 30th September.

What do you think my chances are....and are there any other 'tactics' I could use to try and get it earlier?

unlikely i would imagine - would they still be liable for the car but you are hooting around in it.... if they have nothing to gain from it i doubt it, but good luck & worth asking anyway!

Remember; they are going to drive around in it until you get it and they can/will reset the mileage:D

just take both keys away from them

what was the discount?

Find out what Merc Terms have to be adhered to for the car to "be a demo" and then propose a plan.

If it was me I would try this - they will want both cash (your money) and revenue (title to the car passes to you without right of return) within the financial quarter ending 30th Sept:

Sign the contract of sale with the price etc agreed with a para added saying:

On 12/9/2009 (or whatever the end of hol is) YOU pay in full, risk passes to you and you must insure the vehicle.
On 30/9/2009 title passes to you.
Between 12/9/2009 and 30/9/2009 they allow you an extended test drive as goodwill (i.e. like they do if you new car breaks down..).

They get the cash early, don't need to insure or store it and can take the car to revenue on 30th.

(Or just beat them up to give you a loaner for the 2 weeks and enjoy a C180....)

I found a way...bribe the manager!

I get it on the 19th...one week on Saturday :bannana::bannana::bannana:

Am I excited???

They will not reset the mileage. That would be illegal. Also illegal for them to let you have the car before it is 3 months old so just be patient.

And BTW it is not your car -not until it is over 3 months old and they have legally sold it to you.
