Jail For Driver Who Filmed Himself At 192mph

I disagree, you can account for the unpredictability of others with correct training.

lol. I just can't understand that at all. :dk:

How can you account for unpredictable manoeuvres by others? At motorway speeds, a quick lane change at the wrong time can happen in the blink of an eye. I don't care how trained a driver is.

How often do we hear of Police vehicles being involved in incidents with other road users? And most Police drivers should have been 'trained' for such events.

That sentence was more due to the fact that the girl was in his care i.e. teacher - student...

My astonished Italian relations were well aware of that.... Italians just have different view on life.

Its not the nut on the wheel that causes accidents, its the Nut behind it.

What a nice guy Mr Davis is turning out to be. It now appears that 2 years was very lenient.

Given he was on course for getting 11 years why bother with the speeding thing? How much did that needless trial cost the taxpayer's?

I assume banning his hapless daughter was just a bit of revenge?

If he got 11 years in 2007 he would have been out by 2013, earlier if he spent time in custudy before the trial.

The jury can not know his previous convictions, but the judge does.

And as a guess... from the reports regarding his general manner, and having pleaded Not Guilty etc, I can visualise him being cocky in court, judges just love this.

It's called "making an example", i.e. it's for the benefit of anyone else who fancies driving a bit fast: if you do this on public roads expect a spell at Her Majesty's Pleasure.

As for the daughter, they probably couldn't find enough evidence (regarding her father's "occupation") to stick her on for that, so did her for this instead.

Someone travelling at 60 in a 30 zone would also be an idiot...but not for travelling at 60 where it is legal. What's the difference?

It is all about the level of risk in relation to the hazards in each different location : they are not the same - 200mph can be quite safe on one road and 30mph too fast and unsafe on another .

Inappropriate use of thought provoking imagery.

Photos?

Perhaps a police artist will be required ... Do they have an identikit for bottoms :dk:

Not that often I'd have to say . As far as proper Class 1 drivers are concerned at least ; the rest are much like Joe public .

That is the whole reason 'the system' and advanced driving was developed .

There is a difference in that it is legal in one place and not in the other , but there is also a difference in the expectations and behaviour of other road users : whilst on the German autobahn , other drivers are reasonably accustomed to vehicles travelling at high speed , so they tend to look properly before changing lanes .
If only that was true. When I was driving in Germany a couple of years ago I had to give the brakes a good testing a couple of times when cars pulled out in front of me when I was doing around 150mph. I had to drop to a more leisurely 100ish for the remainder of my autobahn journeys.

Be cheeky if they did ;)

More likely to be jug shots

If not a line up should do it ;)

Was going to make a light hearted comment but I can't be ****d .
