I got my car back from the body shop this morning, local guy ive used before.
hes done a great job, cant even tell its been done,
the repair to the off side door mirror and front bumper not even a sign of the deep guages.
the paint is great too.
i have just given the car a quick wash and hose off not going to leather for a couple of weeks. and it looks amazing even in the dulling light of early evening

the bonnet now looks great again gone are the fifteen yes fifteen stone chips
he even cleaned my wheels for me whilst he had the car!!

Nice one,
Hopefully the moderators will not object if you tell us who resprayed your car?

Regards,
John

What the hell!!

I went out to the car yesterday to find that one of my inlaws has put a fairly large scratch on the nearside front bumper corner just three weeks after it was resprayed.
Totally gutted i cant believe it.
Good job body shop have some spare paint left over.

My mother in law also managed a similar stunt - it was however when I was reversing over her .

I have got it , but a lump of rust fell in front of one of the sensors.

So how badly did she damage the "car" then...!

Maybe it was her breath , but my bonnet has gone rusty , and the airbag light won't go off .

Hows this then - tongue in cheek I asked if MB were going to replace my rust wheel bolts as part of the claim - reply , no- you have taken the wheels off (actually I would like somebody who hasn't taken their wheels off to try a claim ) anyway , yesterday I had cause to get the wheel brace out of the boot - guess what ? even the chrome has fell off of that and it has gone rusty .

mine would be if a brought a new set - but since I reckon that the chrome will fall off them if they get wet - I'l leave it till I sell the thing .

I suppose I could always chrome plate the things one by one - or alternatively nick them one by one from the new motor parked up the road

Smart replace bolts FOC whilst under warranty, trick is to get a set a week before warranty runs out then you will have some till you remember you'll have to pa for the next set so buy some decent aftermarket ones as Smart always replace with the same naff quality ones!
