Great to see someone with a positive action as a result of this virus, expect many more will be losing their jobs soon,
Best of luck in your new venture

Shame about you being laid off.....

Great news on the new adventure.....Doing something you love, and from what i've seen - you're good at.....

Good luck with your new venture.... :)

Sometimes you have to take a step or 2 backwards to move positively forward. I’ve been there bro, it’s sore.
Focus and focus and focus. Visualise yourself back to where you were and higher. Set your target and don’t deviate from that. Write down where you want to be and read it often.
Good luck.

Wishing you all the best in your new enterprise!

I’m in London and struggle to find anyone who is passionate and doesn’t want north of £300 to detail my car. Seriously considering if I need to book in! Would be nice to have a long drive!

Thanks again for all your kind & motivational words.

Its difficult to know where to price myself, i know i want the emphasis of what i do to be paint correction, targeting that deep wet glossy shine, taking something that isnt great looking and making it pop and have wow factor.

I did a Nissan 350z last week, it was in terrible condition, i spent nigh on 7 hours on it, wet sanding (very carefully) numerous deep top coat scratches, compounding, polishing, cleaning the rubber trims, wax coating, the soft top hood was a garden in itself, that got de-greased, anti fungal treatment (which he bought) and waterproofed, the headlights were cloudy and needed wet sanding, the Rays alloys hadnt seen soap in god knows how long. I didnt touch the inside, I charged him £100 to help find where i needed to be.

He was obviously ecstatic at the end result, and so was i, it turned out beautiful, but i undercharged him by i would say £50-60, maybe more. I obviously wanted my customer to be more than happy with how his car turned out, and proved to myself that i pay attention to detail & dont cut corners, i still need to find my worth to price the jobs.

Each car will be different, in terms of what materials/consumables are needed, time i need to achieve the agreed final result, i want to be driving away knowing the customer has a massive grin oggling his pride & joy.

If i can get into a car dealer/dealership and get regular work then a deal can be definitely made, the only thing im cautious about is the amount of business to expect during the winter months.

If any of you guys want your car doing i would be happy to give it some love, all i ask is fair payment for an awesome job.

100 quid, no wonder he was ecstatic! I would think when you get going proper, and get a bit of a rep, you can charge at least double that, the 350z looks fantastic by the way. :) :thumb:

Positive mental attitude and willing to think outside the box. You will succeed. Good luck.

Here in Wales prices in theory should be lower but it has just cost me £50 for a 45 minute visit to have the yellow headlights on my wife's Rav corrected! It was expensive for what he did even accepting he had to travel to my house. I would certainly expect to pay about £200 for the treatment you gave the 350z. Am seriously considering having my SLK treated to a correction unfortunately I am too far away!

Initially i`ll be mobile until i get rep, in time i would like to operate from a small unit so i can set up the correct lighting to do a better job, and specialise more in high end motors and post body-shop vehicles. But there may occasionally be a need for me to be mobile, i`ll be flexible.
