Hey Ho,

Yesterday while driving to the recycing compound, tried to turn a corner and the car decided that the kerb looked like a better option. Front tyre blown off and alloy pretty much RIP. Gutted!

Top tip, when trying to change a wheel on a very icy road, dont pull the wheel to hard, as the whole car slides towards you and the jack slips off! Luckily stubborn, fecked alloy took the weight and I managed to get it jacked back up and wheel replaced.

Can anyone recommend a good Alloy specialist, as I now need new rims!

Happy New Year

I had pretty much the same experience a couple of months back. My front nearside wheel went down a massive pot-hole and ruined the wheel and tyre.
Had buy new - no other option. Got mine direct from Mercedes. Not the cheapest option, but it was the quickest by far.

Most MB wheels are around 160 I believe, my 500E alloy was.

Dave!

Just as a matter of record, I had a flat over the weekend and the wheel was welded onto the hub...no amount of pulling etc would shift it....rang MB and a very helpful man called Duncan advisded me to loosen the bolts, lift car on jack and then very carefully lower the car back onto the wheel...hey presto, the weight of the car broke the wheel away from the hub....the bolts were slack enough to allow this to happen...so no more pulling to get wheel off!

In a less controlled fashion, thats how I managed to get the wheel off! Your technique sounds much better though. :D

PM me your VIN and ill check the dealer network for you, see if anyone has one on their obsolete stock (12months no movement) that they will do a deal on.
If they came on the car from new, If not just let me know which wheels they are and ill look for you.
