To be honest paul, with your whine it probably would have been better to leave it as it would have been slightly thicker...

It seems to have stopped the whine ? I drove around 5 miles at all sorts of speeds and I couldnt hear it at all. I Will know for sure tommrrow though when I take it on a longer journey.
There is rust on it but I keep battling it. I have cleaned underneath the wheel arches often and I took the rear bumper off the other day and treated the odd spots of rust under there.
The car has spent all its life here in Birmingham
I think it was garaged as it has electric mirrors and on the delivery note there was a drawing on the back that looked like the dimensions of the car with the mirrors in and with the mirrors out and the dimensions of a garage. Not sure though
If you look carefully at that photo you can see spots of rust here and there and I will treat them just to be on the safe side
I enjoyed changing that dif oil , I dont do much mechanical stuff.

There were a few spots but nothing major i put rust treatment on and loads of waxoyl
One thing is for shure and that is that your E230 W210 is perhaps the best maintained prefacelift W210 i have ever seen from both inside and outside, from the many things you have done to it and the time taken, its clear you love it and you care for it with the up most pride. Good stuff and keep it up.
An idea for a future mod maybe to colour code the handles body colour but leaving the chrome strip just like on the facelift models
