just changed stat and housing on my w203 270cdi. However the temp sensor got damaged getting it out of the old housing.

Anybody know the part number for the sensor?

Confused by exactly what part you removed. The stat comes as a complete unit nothing to remove except the whole part then simply bolt on new unit. Why would you have removed the stat from the housing ? .

It only comes as the complete part if you buy from MB as I would assume.

The one I got from ECP was stat only - no temp sensor

I changed my stat just under 12 months ago and bought a new sensor (which fits in the housing) and clip from main dealers.

Part No's.
Sensor - MA000 905 07 00 £9.25 + VAT
Clip - MA008 988 91 78 £1.15 + VAT

Small by-pass pipe which fits under the stat housing for anyone else who is thinking of doing this job is MA611 203 01 08

Bought my stat from euro was complete housing and temp sensor never heard of it not having the sensor included maybe someone had sent that one back as a return an d nicked the sensor out of it. Wouldn't be the first time people have done that.

These don't come complete with the sensor, either from ECP or the Main Dealers. The sensor fits in the opening where the arrow points to.

Hate to disagree with you but bought mine about 4 weeks ago and was indeed a complete unit with sensor attached .

I just asked ECP the question, based on a 2002 MY E220 in case it was different.

Replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. It was a complete unit. Just a swap out.

Well I'm going to eat humble pie here not on the fact it was a complete unit just the supplier. I was baffled as to how I got the whole unit and checked my paperwork thank god I keep it in a folder. I got it from GSF problem is I shop between the two depending on best deal at time. got a MAF from euros and thermo from GSF same day delivered. My apologies euro may well not supply the stat in the housing GSF do and I get a discount for being a cab driver from them which bought the cost down the equivalent euro price.
