had a belated xmas present treat from my partner..

Trip up to Silverstone.. and bombed around the track in their Lambo..

woop woop.. lots of fun, but too slow....

Today i finally saw the appeal of the Veyron... lol ;)

Anyone else done one the track trill experience thingys there??

Nice! :thumb:

What's the new track layout like?

I know what you mean - those long straights can be sooooooooooo boring... :D

What - you forgot to use the Lambo in time? :dk::D

new track looks great, the main south end was in use for bike testing, so we got to use the new north end and started in the main new pits... i felt like luis Hamilton. lol..

the new long straight i think is called the wellington, named after a world war bomber.... anyway... it was a fast section of track, slightly smaller than the usual experience track, so i got 4 laps.

The Lambo was just slow... it got to 120mph no probs.. but i didnt have a chance to go beyond 140.. and to be honest, between you and me, i do drive fast, and thus i didnt really feel the "THRILL" lol..

but it was an enjoyable day out, and highly recommended.. perhaps more than 4 laps would have been better ;)

Pah! I've had 115 out of my E320CDI estate round the Nurburgring - with the wife and kids on board!!! There are no straights there.

You can't have been trying... ;)

maybe i was reading a clock or something then.. 1.20pm lol

I've driven the Big daddy Murc LP640 around the test track at Longmarsh in Surrey. I've driven all of the VXR cars around Thruxton and that was epic fun and uber fast! Coming into the chicane at over 140+mph!
I got to wind the Lambo up to 135+mph on the short straight they lined up on the track! It felt soo fast as the straight was not that long! Well worth doing again!

I have to say that I have always found road cars massively disappointing when used on a race track - their fundamental lack of performance and soft suspension (when compared to a race car) shines through - I thought this even in an F50, though I wasn't driving, just a passenger.

That is the genius of MB World's little test track. You could almost roll it up an pop it in your pocket when compared to Silverstone or Brands Hatch, but when you drive around it in a fast road car (most of the supplied cars seem to be C63s) you really feel that you are pushing the car to its limits in both the corners and on the straights (the longest of which is still no more than 200m long). The corners are small and tight so you have to negotiate them at quite low speeds and - most importantly, the track is very narrow so, for a given speed, it feels much faster bacause you are so contstained. It is a brilliant experience and by far the best that I have had in a road car on a race track.

I've done Silverstone southern circuit in their Ferrari 360 and Lotus Exige, :D plus 1 lap as a passenger in a race prepared Exige
Between the Ferrari and the Lotus I'd take the Exige everytime, brill fun, must do it again this year, Croft or Oulton Park me thinks :thumb:

yeh my miss's got me a lambo drive in the mercilargo 640 SV :D WAS LOADS OF FUN ( alltho was in the wet and the bloke did hold on at 1 point lol )
