I'm sitting at a mini roundabout with a BM 7 series in front of me , the roundabout and 2 oncoming roads are completely clear.....

The guy drives off and takes exit 2 and ploughs straight into a belisha beacon which is attached to a lamp post ....

The car stops dead, and is trashed basically , bits everywhere, bonnet folded in on itself, just before the guy gets out of the car the top of the lampost falls off and trashes the roof of the BM as well

The chap gets out (oldish 60 maybe) and just stands ther with a look of WTF  on his face..... but oh-ho the funs not over yet, instead of putting it in park before he got out, hes put it in reverse to try and get off the beacon, so now he is out of the car and the car is heading backwards..... :D

Car bumps a roadside telephone exhange box ( big green metal thing) and stops.....breaking the rear bumper .....

Anyway , i was going to meet someone so couldn't be late and he was ok just a bit WTF so i left....

On the way back, Plod is there directing traffic while they recover the BM and the guy is still looking like WTF ......

No crash is funny really, but this was really was quite amusing .....

Honestly .... it was legendary .....

I was roaring in the car ..... :D

a real Faulty Towers type moment, just need the car to slide off the back of the transporter and into a swimming pool to finish it off.

I've still got tears in my eyes from the bit about the top of the lamppost falling on his roof! Oh my aching sides!

This is what mobile phone cameras were invented for - you'd have made a mint if you'd had one handy.

If he'd have got out 5 seconds earlier , it might have been all over for him ...

It made a hell of a mess

Shouldn't laugh really, but............

I bet the top of the lamp post was trying to say something???

"Missed the b*****d!!" Sorry about that, my English teacher will be turning in her grave :o

Definitely qualifies for a Hamlet Moment type advert.

Doesn't sound to me like he should be driving at all.

If he was drunk he should have his licence taken away... If he was sober he should still have his licence taken away....

must have been under the influence!!
On a similar note - remember the Sun photo about 20 years ago about an old guy who drove his merc S class into a swimming pool? I went to school with the guy's grandson.
How's that for a claim to fame??
The kid never lived it down........

You've made that up surely ??? :D :D

Gods honest truth ......

still chuckling now ...... :D

Didn't realise that Dad had got a new car?
Basically the trouble is once you're got your licence its for life unless you get stupid or drunk and try to drive. Speaking from experience Dad is 85 now and still driving and the old saying ' I havent had an accident, but I've seen lots ',
definatley applies . I have asked him to stop driving but no.
Parents, what do you do with them.

Off to the 'Sunshine Retirement Castle' ;)

My granny had Alzheimers and was still driving. In the end we took the rotor arm out of her car (a Mini).

And I'll bet that she blamed some vandal youths if she ever found out.
Mac.

:D well that cheered me up a bit. I had to ask my grandad to stop and let me out the car a few years ago it was sooooo scary, he is 93 this year  . he has given up now thankfully.
