Didn't realise it was up for sale! :o

Any pics of the old car :)

Blimey you've done unwell to unload it for what you paid...

Why did you sell it? Do you still have the C43?

What are you going to buy instead?

still got c43 yes,not sure what to buy now... 911 turbo ? gallardo ? 430 ferrari ?new pp2 c63 ?

I drove an F430 last weekend, fast but flimsy.. not what I expected - wafer thin seats due to weight I guess..

the 43 must feel asthmatic now.... haha

Why dont you have a look at the new GTR? if I could afford cars in that league, I'd definitely give the datsun a go.

I would look at the 911 turbo, im sure that it will fill that void left by the C63 in no time.

One of my favourite cars of all time is the Porsche 993 Turbo S. Last of the air cooled turbos. 0-60 in 3.7 and 0-100 in 8.8. Staggering figures for a car of that time IMO. I will be looking to get one of these sometime in the near future.

I presume you will be looking at a 997 turbo?

Lovely Porsche but how can you do under 200 miles in a year in any car you own ? and part of that 200 miles is taking it to the dealer for a service I guess.

Was it a museum car perhaps ?

amazing you didn't lose money on the C63 .. well done

Still, £60K for a 12 year old car is a bit strong, I'm guessing it's only that price due to silly low mileage.

Any reasonable use on that and it'll be depretiating as fast as a Kia.

The reason why these 993 Turbo S Porsches command so much now even though they are old is because they were the very last and the most powerful of the air cooled turbos. Many fans of Porsche claim it was the last true Porsche because it was air cooled and all Porsches that came ater were water cooled.

The car came with a lot of extras behind last of its kind as well as being the most powerful production car in the world at the time. Finally i believe there were only ever 183 of these produce and sold worldwide, so very rare, even though you can see some floating around now for sale.

An example of what an RS version of the 993 still fetches, produced in small numbers again, LINKY

mudster you obviously not to clued up on 993 turbos.

Haha. Funny how the jap car (which is better round a track & faster than any Porsche ever built) gets dismissed so easily....

Ohhhh what a shame! Seems like being open-minded about things is too much to ask these days! :)

To be honest, nice as the GTR is I don't think you can (or should) compare it with motoring classics just yet - perhaps in time though. For me there's much more to a car than specs, or what it can do on paper etc. I'd probably swap my CLK55 for an older, slower, tattier 911 (ignoring value of either car) - the classic 911 shape, the sound, experience etc is what they're all about.

Love the shape of the wings and headlights of the older (964 and earlier) 911, they just have such a nice character about them

As already said, the 993 is a modern day classic and an immaculate 993 Turbo with 18k on the clock is a collectors dream. The price is understandable and clearly not an issue to whoever bought it :)

My brother fairly recently swapped his immaculate LHD 993 C4S for an 07 Imprezza (family car)...

The 993 interior was great, proper old skool clicky switches and dials, hilarious wipers and a ride that picked up every stone in the tarmac. Dingy as hell though (silver on black) although quite nifty round the Nurburg ring (I was following in a 993 C2).

I can see why they are regarded as classics.
