Just when you think driving is hard enough!

Learn never to believe what road signs say. Cameras get switched on and those responsible, "forget" to remove the signs!

How many times have you seen signs for road works only to discover that there are no road works?

I don't see the problem, if there even is one.

There is a speed limit on the motorway, and cameras to record those breaking it. That's "underhand" because....:dk:

It's no different to a cop on a bridge using a hairdryer - you aren't warned about those...

How does having the cameras set lower make driving harder?

Maybe it doesn't for some, unlike myself.

Anyway, I thought it was worth posting up for anyone that uses that section of the M62, no?

I understood the intent for your post JJJ.

All info is good info regarding plod and cameras :thumb:.

I think the the roadworks , the avarge speed sign warning and the extra camera On the bridge would be a clue not to exceed the speed limit .

If Brian McDowall of the ABD really said what the paper says (and he may well not have done) then I'll shut them down when I'm King:

"It’s unacceptable because otherwise you have no forewarning."

What. Utter. Codswallop.

The NSL applies when the signs are off. If you exceed that, you're liable to get caught one way or another.

Also, Mr Freeman can forget getting any of my business, no matter what the circumstances:

"If the police or the Highways Agency are going to start using these cameras to measure speed during normal road conditions it's grossly unfair."

Oh, boo hoo. What a... er... lawyer...?

Your driving lessons, test, highway code, road signage education, brains etc would also be a massive clue not to exceed the speed limit.

My car is not really slow and I have no trouble doing 70mph / 60mph on the motorway...

Where there's a will and all that...

I tend to pretty much stick to the limits when it comes to roads like this as you never know who is watching.

But if someone with inside knowledge on any aspect of speed cameras is happy to share what they know I will gladly listen.
