L-plate motocyclists - a menace

I can’t believe anyone can suggest such a thing!!

Nobody deserve such treatment, regardless of how loud the exhausts are.

You should be banned from the forum imho!!
You surely did not think that these were serious suggestions, did you? Calling for a ban for daring to post a light-hearted suggestion that no reasonable person could take seriously is well OTT.

And again the problem is they are not identifiable by a reg plate unlike a car. still hopefully when they are in the back of the ambulance haven been scraped off the tarmac/side of a bus they will be carrying a donor card.
Just watched an episode of Ambulance Red where they attended a young woman who had been on an e-scooter with her partner and they hit a car. No helmets or protective gear at all - she had a ruptured spleen, damaged liver and broken leg. Her partner died. 😲

Light hearted suggestion?- I don’t think so!!
It was my suggestion....and clearly it was a joke....particularly as I am a biker myself. Got 4 titanium plates and about 60 screws in my left arm to prove it....bloody Volvo drivers!!

But the noisy moped crew do get me cross. I often think that if they piss me off as a bike lover how angry are they making non bikers. Next thing you know there will be new laws that affect all of us....even the ones with quiet pipes.

As for people suggesting a ban....really?......time to stop taking yourself quite to seriously I might suggest.

I should like to propose that the subject of this thread could more accurately be described as "Twunts on noisy L plate motorcycles".
They will be the same ones who, when they progress to cages, habitually drop their used KFC & McDonalds packaging out of the window after eating.
Scum the lot of them, no respect or thought for others...

Although,,,,,,, my bike is actually quite loud..

Selfishly, I’m quite glad some folks don’t keep their bikes stock, as I was able to buy a virtually new pair of Harley Road King silencers for my JZR extremely cheaply. (See avatar pic). Made the car so much more quiet, much to the delight of my neighbours…

It's a pity the bros in bandanas didn't heed the warnings that not wearing hearing protection in their work place would lead to them needing pipes so open on their Harleys that the exhaust valves can be seen moving when squinting up them just so they can tell the engine is actually running.

Despite my reports to the police of the noisy L-plate motorcyclists, the noise and speeding continues......numerous times daily (and late into the evening, too). It's horrendously loud, the speeding on 20mph suburban side streets is wildly excessive and dangerous. It's also highly noticeable and unbelievably dumb.

Contrast that with a local young lad of afro-caribbean descent who tours the area (slowly) on a souped up electric bike. I'm not making accusations, but from what I've observed, he's distributing "substances" in small packets. No cumbersome helmet, no driving skills required and no identifiable number plates - on a machine nimble and quick enough to easily evade any police chase (joke intended) - but most handily - he does it silently.

Who's the smarter one?

The london scooters are right w*nkers. They love to sit in your blind spot and always speed/undertake.

Should have a rule that once the cbt time runs out, you can’t just get another one and have to progress to a full licence.
There is a rule : once your provisional expires , if you have not passed a test then you cannot obtain another provisional licence for a year .

Was driving through Glasgow City Center last night and the amount of delivery drivers using totally silent E- bikes / scooters was unbelievable , at least with the ICE equipped vehicles you have a chance to hear them.

Running red lights and riding without front or rear lights on these E bikes seem to be the norm now , wont be able to scoot aboot with broken legs , or worse, should they ignore one too many red lights.

K
I was almost run over by two of them while I had the audacity to cross with the green man outside the Buchanan Galleries recently ; it was getting dark and neither had any lights showing .

And again the problem is they are not identifiable by a reg plate unlike a car. still hopefully when they are in the back of the ambulance haven been scraped off the tarmac/side of a bus they will be carrying a donor card.
This is , at least and at long last , being discussed . All riders need to display an ID number on their backs ( plates for the bicycles won't work ; easier to identify the rider ) then many of these issues will disappear overnight .
