Lamborghini Gallardo V Merc CLK DTM AMG

Thanks very much for posting the link. I wonder how much you would push these very expensive cars? :) If it wasn't mine I think I might have a heavier right foot than if I owned it?

Regards
John

Courtesy of our friends on the eMercedesBenz website--- A first person look at what it would be like to pilot a Lamborghini Gallardo head-to-head against a Mercedes CLK DTM AMG at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Enjoy that V10 music!

Fantastic.

I dont understand why the CLK didnt pass that back marker:confused: He clearly had more power than the Gallardo. Guess we will never know!

Nice vid, was it me or did here nearly loose it about a third of the way through on a left hander, had a bit of straight onidness:D

Very impressive :) although im always very sceptical of 'Vs' video's as driver ability and track knowledge has as much to do with it as the cars!

A very interesting clip none the less though! Gollardo seems much better brakeing/cornering at the start than the merc.

I saw that aswell. Must have been a bit of a heart stopping moment!

4 wheel drive

Gollardo seems much better braking/cornering at the start than the merc.

Possibly because of the Gollardo's 4 wheel drive giving better cornering/traction out of the bends ( I know I'm obsessed ;) ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Gallardo Interestingly that seemed to count less as the speeds went up. It might have have been different story in the wet however. In the end probably depended on how hard each driver was prepared to push!!

:D I think he had his time as the hare and wanted to sit back and watch :)

For those of us that will never get the chance of visiting this location, I for one appreciate this type of video.

John the very envious

He did lose it a couple of times - would be interesting as Grober says to see the two together on a damp circuit - the Gallardo was understeering heavily most of the way round.

Would prefer the camera to be in the CLK-DTM as well!

Slightly off topic: a friend just got a Gallardo SE. It had total, catastrophic engine failure under 1000 kilometers without any abuse. Here's the result:

Lamborghini/Audi were quite difficult about the incident, until they found an engine assembly fault. The conrod failed.

I thought the Lambo was driven very smoothly all the way around. Sure, the DTM seemed to pull away on the straights but it didn't look like he had the balls for a race really.

Very nice to watch anyway. thanks :D

It is my favourite car that MB has ever made. I aim save up the £185,000. If I don't get one I will never be content. I think its the best lookin MB made and its quicker than a SLR.

Awsome German engineering.

I sound like a right geek........

The only downside is reliability - the press cars all broke down IIRC.
