Anyone going to Le Mans this year?.....do MB Club organise a road trip

I've not been for a few years but had some brilliant trips in the past, thinking the CLK needs a trip abroad next year.

Camping in Houx Annex is the way......full of petrol head brits, riding around in motorised 4 poster beds / sofas / pirate ship!! and enough fireworks to start a small war!!

For full info look on beermountain.com, those guys take being a brit abroad seriously :D

Will always remember my trip in Y reg Audi Quattro turbo, giving it the beans thro france to a mates villa.....at a speed possibly exceeding the legal limit, there was an almighty bang from front end.....my partner in crime calmly stated "were not upside down in a field, so its not a tyre" it was main turbo intercooler hose rupturing!...one of many mishaps

I know the Porsche owners club book an area for club members, we stayed in it once as one of group was a member and took his 1972 911....they were a little upset when one of the guys (hooray henry in an Aston Martin) stated "look boys this is where the beetles park":o....followed by popping his bonnet a loudly stating "engine in the front where it should be" :o:o

I assume MB Club members would not have a go at the beetle owners ;)

One thing to be aware of is its a long weekend.....you need a week to recover!

Not going this year, been several years previously but getting tired of the idiots that attend.

Had a fool on the bonnet of my friends E39 M5 one year, and some idiot dutch set fire to a golf buggy, complete with batteries next to our cars another year.

The bit that I miss is going into the woods in the dark and watching the cars go past with brakes glowing, exhausts breathing fire etc, there is nothing like it.

Do the Corvettes still race? Their noise is out of this world

Suggest you look at Lycian Events and Village On The Curves - admittedly organised and run by a PCGB member but not limited to Porsche owners - we saw Lambos. Astons and sundry others there last year, including a couple of MB's. Brilliantly organised, proper secure site very near Porsche Curves.

Hmmm seems to be things have got a little out of hand!...in the past it was all good natured fun the only real risk was rouge fireworks!

Your right about the woods, its an awesome sight....and sound, had a hot dog there last time, assumed the mustard was french.....it was me breathing fire!

Thanks for the heads up:thumb: the previous reply has made me think twice about Houx annex. Its all about the cars and the experience for me, a bit of fun yes.....jumping on peoples cars / setting fire to things near peoples cars.....not for me :ban:
