hi, i just wondered if any one can help, i have a CDI 220 2003, i have found that diesel is leaking from what i think is the fuel pump, is the pump at the front of the engine? when i start the engine i can see a few drips coming from the bach of the pump but as it is tight its hard to see where exactly, i dont think its coming from the fuel pipes. im thinking of removing the pump and replacing the gaskets, is this a hard job and has any one got any tips. there seems to be 3 small sections bolted onto the pump, 1 at the top an the other 2 at the bottom corners, im thinking the seal has gone in the 1 on the bottom left corner, so if i get the pump off i plan to change the seals in all 3. is there any easy way to remove the fuel pump. thanks. thanks for your help on changing and the injector seal. 4 months on and its still ok

yes, pump at the front of the engine. engine 611,612,613, remove and replacing the gaskets in the pump very simply. what engine (code) do you have?

It could also possibly one of the fuel lines on the pump. If the white ring has split on the end of one of these lines it will certainy drip a fair amount of fuel.

If it is one of the fuel lines at fault, it is always best to replace all three at the same time. The cost for all three fuel lines is around £80.

If you need to replace the pump, you should always replace all three fuel lines.

the drip does seem to come from behind the far transparent fuel line, it would be easier to replace the 2 transparent lines before i try take the pump off would you agree or do i need to remove the pump to relace the lines and seals

first step wash your engine and try find leaks

could i just replace the white o rings if te pipe is ok

To remove the pump you'll need to remove the cowl and the fan and the poly belt will have to come off. Make sure you remember the configuration of the belt (it may be worth installing a new one at this time - £30) and also make sure you manage to locate the tensioner - you won't get the belt back on if you don't find it.

You'll need (IIRC) a 17mm socket for the tensioner, which is easier to acces from underneath. You can put a pin (unwanted allen key if you like) to hold the tension whilst refitting the belt.

think im gonna need my dads help to remove the pump, if i just replace the o ring, do i just turn the black plastic clip

You'll need the torque settings to put the pump back on. I'm not sure but from memory I think the bolts are to be 15nm, so not that tight at all.

What year is your car?

it is small engine , there not many work :thumb: v-belt should draw on paper and remember code radio , becouse battery shut off (safety rules:dk:)

year of car is 2003, i'll replace o rings in the pipes at the weekend and if still leaking the pump will have to come off, is it common for the pipes themselves to leak, im just thinking of doing what i can without taking the pump off, what are the 3 small sections bolted to the pump with 4 bolts, it its not the pipes and seals leaking what else could it be, am i right in thinking there is a gasket between pump and engine block

what bosch number your pump ? 0445010078 (0986437306) ?
