Got caught on camera driving in bus lane in Cambridge, didn't know you can get fined, let alone photographed. Can't deny the evidence so had to cough up, will know next time.
You should live in an area where there a red routes. You only have to stop for a moment to get snapped and subsequently fined. Care also needs to be taken when using designated parking or loading bays on such routes as well.
I was delivering some large bags to a Charity Shop on our High Street a while back and got a ticket for being there no more than 5 mins. Appealed and ticket got rescinded but what a waste of time.
It does give rise to a feeling of 'not Cricket' though, because people are used to the old ways were if you didn't find a ticket on your winscreen, weren't stopped by police, or flashed by speed camera, you were fine...
the bus lane cameras have been active for over 6 months in Cambridge now with warning signs posted but sometimes you do have to "stray" in to the bus lane on Newmarket road at the traffic lights while other cars are waiting to turn into the retail park opposite tescos
