Hello,

Which is the best product (reasonably priced as well) to use on cleaning leather? I assume that this too can used on twin leather? Normally I use a clean cloth soacked in bucket of warm water and that does the job nicely on my orion grey interior. However, over w/end I had cleaned the seates/interior with damp cloth soaked in warm water but because I did not let the seat thoroughly dry the blue dye from my jeans stained part of the twin leather. I got the worse of the stains out (again with a cloth soaked in warm water) but if I look cloesly I can still see shades of blue blended stained in the small wrinkes/lines in the twin leather seat.

Can a decent leather cleaner remove the die stain of the seat?

Cheers

Zymol do a leather cleaner. I think it's pretty good, shame it doesn't smell as nice as the wax though :p

I got mine from Hellfrauds. Comes in a clear bottle with spray top, liquid is a bright transparent orange colour. Good for cleaning and not leaving any residue behind.

I've tried numerous other products from Hellfrauds in the past but never really got on with them, they were usually a cream based product that left white residue everywhere... not good with a black interior.

I haven't used it for stain removal though, just use it as a general leather cleaner.

There was another product that got high recommendation but I can't remember the thread, time for a search...

*EDIT* Amazing what you can find ;)

Autoglym do an excellent leather cleaner and care cream. But as you need specific stain removal - which might be tough if it's through to the non polished leather, you might need to think about something better perhaps from Zymol, Swissol or Maguires.

I would give the Autoglym a try but use a softish brush to work the cleaner into the grain, then use the after care cream to feed the leather through. Water will not replenish the oils and cause it to dry out and hence get minute cracks in the grain that can then stain.

Good luck - hope you get the staining out.

Over the lst few years I have used a number of brands the dearest at 25 pounds (swedish came with the 3 pc suite) to a 3$ brand from Wal-mart in the US, yes your right the cheapest seems to be the best (I have the autoglym as well).

I have used products by both Meguiars and a company called Liquid Leather, they are both good for general cleaning, not sure about stain removal.

If you have no luck, it may be worth contacting a local leather suite shop, as they must have come across this sort of problem before.

Thank You to all your replies - I will try Auto Glym or Meguiars - if that does not remove the stain then contact leather shop/specialist.

Thanks
