How can I turn the LED lights on at all times including nights? I see every other MB out there with the LED lights on but not mine!!

Thanks.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the DRL's were meant to turn off automatically when the main lights switch on. Not sure you can keep them both on at the same time. Pretty sure I can't on my S204.

Having said all that, why would you want the DRL's on at the same time as the main headlights anyway?:dk:

It's not that I want the lights on it's just that I see every other MB with the DRL's on at night and mine doesn't and in conversation with a work college he mention that mite be a problem with my car. I'm just wondering. DRL's don't make you see any better at night anyway.

What car do you have? I have to admit, I don't think I've ever seen another car, MB or otherwise, that keeps the LED DRL's on at the same time as the main headlights. Are you sure you aren't just seeing other cars with the ultra bright Xenons that may make it look as though the DRL's are still on?

Legally, DRLs must be off at night.
Yours are working as designed.

No I'm very sure a friend of mine also have 2012 C class and he drives at all times with DRL's on day and night. I have a the C220 AMG Sports 2013 model. My friend tried to turn the DRL's on on the settings on the car dashboard it shows that it's on but it's not.

My ones are working as designed. The DRL's turn themselves off as soon as the head lights are turned on. But on "Light settings" it shows as "on" all the time.

Ok, I think I can explain. If you have ILS headlights (xenons) what happens is that the DRL go from bright to dim when the headlights come on.

If you don't have ILS then what happens is that the DRLs switch off when the headlights are on.

Is your a AMG Sport Edition? If so, MB didn't fit these with ILS but you got other goodies such as DAB Radio and Command as standard.

Also, check your headlights as ILS have Intelligent Headlights written on the inside of the headlamps. Also another check is that ILS don't have a headlight adjustment switch next to the main lighting switch.

Hope this helps?

My GL has HID ILS and they do switch off. My GLC has LED ILS and they remain on.

Hi thanks for your response. My MB doesn't have ILS lights. And yes it's a AMG SPORT EDTION. There's nothing written on the side of the Headlights and I do have the adjustment switch next to the main light switch.

Hi
I have a 2012 amg sport edition coupe with ILS but have never notisted if the drl's stay on dim or go off. Bit will have a look when I go out later.

This post intrigued as I had no idea if my DRL went off when main lights come on.

So out to the garage I go and as you can see from the photo the two curved DRL stay on when main lights operate, this is in auto and manual mode.

Mind you that does not mean they all operate like this.

Light settings have nothing to do with whether the DRL's are actually on or not. If you turn the setting to off the DRL's will never be on. My 2012 ML turns the DRL's off when the main lights are on.

My ML (W166) which is fitted with ILS Bi Xenons works as follows:
During day = DRLs on
Side lights on = DRLs OFF
Headlights on = DRLs on BUT dimmed.

My brother who also has the same model and year ML, but without the ILS option, his DRLs go off as soon as either the side lights or headlights are on.

That's strange I've seen hundreds of mb's such as e, c and cls which have both on I.e main headlights and drl which are placed at the bottom corners of the front bumper! Oh mine have both on at night and don't dim, they do look super cool ; ) I have HID ILS

You will need to get your drls coded via star for them to come on at night..

Mercedes main dealer or specialist mostly.
