They're illegal as they contravene the RVLR for not being e-marked filament replacements. If there were any question of your brake lights being a contributory factor in an "accident", you'd potentially be in trouble. There's no way an LED cluster of this construction will be as bright as a 21W filament. There's nothing "E Class estate" specific about them: they're just a standard 1156 LED replacement with the car in the advert to try to encourage sales.
Also, white is not a good colour for brake LEDs. Bulbs can be white, because their white light is heavily biased towards the red end of the spectrum. The red lens in the cluster reduces the other components and you're left with primarily red light. White LEDs, however, have a "peaky" spectrum without much red. They'd look a lot pinker behind a red filter.
Finally, a filament bulb radiates evenly in all directions and the lamp assembly contains a reflector to capture the light going rearwards (er... forwards with respect to the vehicle) and bounce it out through the lens, making the lamp appear to be lit over a much wider area than the bulb itself. These LED replacements don't do that, so you'll end up with a smaller apparent area.
In summary, you'll get an illegal dim pink spot for your money.
