Been reading a few posts about this, havn't done a fully fledged search on the subject yet, but i know a few of you have done this switch over, so was looking for some quick and easy answers and thoughts.

I have a C350 Coupe (2005) Bi-Xenons as standard, and, as you know the sidelights are still the old style yellowish light bulbs, don't like those they look wrong !

Now i know that a cheap bulb is likely to trigger the bulb failure warning system, and i know resisters are available to combat this, either in simple plug and play in-line leads or ones that require modifying the wiring, i also know that one large resister heats up, and have read some posts warning of this, and i know some of you have tried certain types of bulbs and removed them because they heat up.

I've been noticing different styles of bulbs, ranging from top mounted LED's to side or all round multi layers.

What i did find during a quick wander around were these, and was wondering if any of you had any experience with these particular ones ? they seem to utilise a series of smaller resistors, possibly to reduce heat build up ?

ERROR FREE CANBUS LED BULBS

the 2 i was looking at were these ones,

i'm thinking that the second ones might be the style i'm looking for rather than the forward projecting desgn

ok, going to give these a try....

Getting some from KillerHERTZ - worth a punt for £16 :) they look the best of those other two designs combined, and he's looked into this a lot more than i have, so i would be sily to overlook his experience ;)

I have fitted these sideleights in my W203, they look good & do not show up any errors.
Good buy from Karl ( Killerhertz ) :thumb:

I've fitted killerhertz ones today to my s211 took 10 mins and give no errors as mentioned he has tested these and looked into it. Rather use the ones he has found than some that may or maynot give errors

I have the same ones in my car and I am so impressed with them, now if only if I could find a set for my front fog lights.

Agree about the foglights but killerhertz Is on the case :) will post a pic of mine when can they look so so much better

I want these in my fog lights, makes them look like DRL's

I bought the HID conversion kit from this company and had them fitted on my old audi, can't get the headlights out from the Merc though (w203 coupe) so I can't fit them :(

Would use this company again though, very reliable.

Appreciate the comments guys, will Keep you updated as soon as I hear anything re: foglights, just working on the H6Ws for W210 and W208s at the moment :)

Thanks :) .... i haven't looked too closely at my fogs, so i'm not sure what is fitted exactly :o

But i am looking forward to those LED's in the side lights, mine currently look more and more orange every time i look at them now ..... what were MB thinking of ?

Does anyone have a full list of bulbs that can be swapped out for LED's .... i've been looking at my rear number plate lights, and the interior lights, and i have to admit, there is a good likelihood they will all be next on the hit list :D

The way i see it, there is little or no reason for not using LED's now in lights that are non-driving ones, such as sidelights, indicators etc etc

Any fittings guides for a cls?

I get a warning up on my dash that says front parking light is not working, but I have no idea which one that is. Looking at the car with all lights on, they all appear to be working fine

Check in your cars manual for fitting instructions

the user guide that came with the car?

I didnt realise merc approved of the user doing anything on the car including change light bulbs.

I will have a look cheers
Amit

hahaha, they have to by law give you some indication as to how to replace bulbs etc, as it's considered a roadside repair that a competent driver should eb able to perform, plus, don't they sell bulb packs at the stealership for the various models (at widely inflated prices ! - handy boxes though !)

Trouble with fitting LED bulbs as fog lights are ........they may look good but will be carp when needed to see..

Pity though...

Fitted the LED's off Killerhertz yesterday. Simple 5 min job on my S211 and have to say they look great.

Such a simple mod but look much much better.

Another happy customer from Killerhertz too.
Can anyone explain why 100 watt headlamp bulbs are against the law in UK, but ok in rest of EU?
What happens when they drive over here?

Tried to fit lights in CLS yesterday .. much too fiddly, had to give up

^how come?

difficult to get at
