Lenny's CLS 55 AMG

I’ve just gone through this thread and the advert and I have to say that if I was in the market for a CLS55, this car would be a no brainer. The colour combination and alloys sets it apart from the others (I previously owned a black and a silver CLS55), as does the great condition which starts to become a concern on cars of this age. The amount of tlc and preventative work done on this car is immense, this in itself is a primary consideration when buying.

It must have been a very tough decision, but all the very best with the sale and someone is going to get a cracker of a CLS55……..

Jules, thanks very much for your kind comments. It has been a difficult decision and I'm still not fully sure if I'm doing the right thing...I'll bever get another like it, that's for sure ! I've tried to keep it tip top, even though its done less than 1k miles in the last 2 years...I hope I can find a new owner that will care for it !

The wheels are genuine AMG rims from a 216 CL63 I believe , people really seem to love them. I do love the 19" CLS 55 "5 spokes" though...I do have a set of these too but "never tried the shoe on" .

Go on, someone...buy it!!😅

Funny you should say that as the Aston departed on Friday! Just not sure it makes much sense having an E55 Estate and a CSL55 though. I shouldn't really buy anything more and if I did it should be a smaller/lighter more sports car biased. Current thinking is to get the two GTi's MOT'd andup to scratch then drive these a bit more. Also the Alfa GT could do with a bit more use but have loaned it out to a couple of friends a couple of times to give it some use.

Always fancied a CLS55 but it never seems to have worked out for whatever reason.
I read about you selling the Aston on Sportsmaserati 👍🏼

I do really like the wheels too. Always felt that turbine kind of look suited the car very well. Like you the 5 spokes work well on the CLS55 too. The E55 dual 5 spokes don't seem to work so well though on a CLS but I think suit the E55 well. Odd that.

I am tempted but must resist as keep making my life harder and more complex when I should be making it easier. I am sure you want have any issues finding a buyer though. Just need to stay patient and one will come along I'm sure.

Yes, can't afford an Aston or Maserati now sadly. The mortgage has eaten the funds from a Vantage, 4200 and a Chimaera. Lots of hardship and belt tightening going on trying to navigate through this tough time for so many.

Noticed you had got back into a GranTurismo again and lovely looking thing it is too. Well done ;)

I agree with you on the dual spokes and the E55 wagon...they look "right" or "factory" if you like ...I think the body of the CLS is so much curvier it needs a fuller wheel to offset that. I tried the CLS AMG 19" 5 spokes on my S211 estate and I liked them, I think a set would look amazing on your E55 wagon especially with that colour not being the typical black or silver.
I do love an E55 wagon, though id I'm honest the thing I can't get past is the slightly older pre facelift interior (mainly the wheel and centre controls). I've been spoiled a bit now the CLS being the "face lift" interior and pur family wagon the S211 E280 being the same...just a slightly nicer place to be. The E63 estate in S211 format would be the logical step but trying finding one that isn't crazy prices!!

Yup, agreed with most of that. I don't mind the older interior but never been a fan of the E55 steering wheel. It is one thing I would change and might do at some point.

I think your current alloys on your CLS55 especially in that colour work really well. Are they 19's?

The wheel !! That's it , its a big tonka toy style thing !
Yes they are 19's with a staggered rear.
The car is on lowering links, which are fully adjustable so it sits nicely at the nos 'standard height'. In sports 1 it drops 1/4 inch or if going over 77mph...likely to be the same on your E55. It can be raised using the airmatic too which is a really nice for cleaning especially the wheels/arches and tyres.
