Hi all, hope your all enjoying this snow, my 208CLK isn't liking it one bit, anything with a slight gradient, nope, not having it :-)

Right, down to the issue. It's a 1999 320 CLK and when you lock the car I hear a clicking sound from the petrol flap locking bar. When I open the flap and lock it the locking bar is intermitent at locking and this is the clicking sound.

So my question is what can I do to resolve it, is it a case of putting a bit of silicone grease, WD40 or similar on the locking bar or is it more serious a fix?

Cheers all, and merry christmas :bannana:

Usually a bit of lubricant followed by working the mechanism a few times will sort it out.

Remember if they used grease originally to lubricate the part then WD40 will actually 'degrease' the part in the long term, better to use spray-grease or a small brush with thick grease on.

Cheers guys, so no wd40!!!
Will try the spray grease then, guess just over the part where the small sliding bolt goes in and out.
Hopefully this will resolve it :-)
