I just ordered a set of these for what I think is a decent price. There are two sets left if anybody else wants some.

*Very* cheap if you ask me, they're about £60+ odd a set from MB new.

Even the key adaptors are over £20 on their own - bargain :)

I managed to get a set of MB locking nuts free from my local breaker .

Have you got wheels that are at risk of being nicked?

I think locking wheel nuts are far more hassle than they're worth, especially when you get tyrefitters with their airguns doing their thing.

To be honest I think I have chanced my arm long enough by having AMGs on my car in Salford with no locking nuts!

Locking (well, 'anti theft' to be more accurate) wheel nuts are standard on many makes such as VW and Audi. Bizarre that they are an accessory for M-B.

'Every Little Helps'

I guess it allows a sense of 'good will' on the sales pitch - free mudflaps/locking wheel bolts/mats etc etc.

Or is there another reason - country specific?

Im not sure Locking nuts are really doing their job these day. Had an incident a year or 2 back were the neighbours BMW M5 wheels and several other BMW wheels that night around the area were stolen over night. Clearly they must have had some sort of master key as all the bolts including the locking nuts were scattered on the floor. Although having said that they still are a deterrent against some thieves and deffo worth having. A right bargain GazCaff.

I guess some locking bolts are better than none. If someone really wants something, they'll get it.

At under £20/set it's got to be worth investing in if someone needs a set though :)

Bentleys (Conti GTs, specifically) seem to have a particular problem with wheels being nicked - there was a picture of another one up on bricks in the paper yesterday.

As Will said, you're just trying to make it a little more difficult for the scrotes ... so they'll hopefully pass by and take someone else's ;)
