looking for N54

can anyone tell me where I can find N54 (infra-red key module) in a 7/95
140033-2A-278640. Have checked the 2 locations as per WIS
1) RH boot behind covering
2) Behind instrument cluster
The unit is not at those locations
This is a DAS2 system with the green/red feedback lights in the interior mirror.

I looked at WIS + star finder, both show the same location. But N54 is NOT there

Pre facelift cars had the module in the boot as pictured above.
Later cars had it fitted behind the cluster, like the W210 etc.

Yes I agree, but unfortunately its not located in the boot or behind instr/cluster.
We looked in WIS and ETM (Star Finder2)

I'm very intrigued now as to where else it could possibly be!

N54 located

N54 was finally located after following the cable from the interior mirror to the LH
A pillar downwards inside the pillar. The unit is mounted on the firewall extreme
LH side at glove box level. After removing the LH kick panel and the hard plastic trim cover under the dashboard that butts up against the firewall the unit can be seen shining a light up into the firewall/sidewall corner.
This DAS2 N54 (210 820 21 32) is much smaller than the DAS1a unit fitted in the boot, it has 2 plug connections - one is for the CAN lines.
We are now waiting for the new module to arrive.
