lots of new members..

OK, I can't believe that of all the people on the forum I'm the one answering this question!!! ;)

Paul (or anybody else) - don't mean any insult by the way I've written the text below - it is all tongue in cheek, but mainly taking the pi55 out of myself for all the trouble I had!

Idiots guide for posting pictures

First of all, if your intending to post pictures of your own car please ensure they go into the members gallery, otherwise the mods get stroppy. There is an excellent guide to posting pictures in there http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1203 unfortunatley if you are as technically competant as I am its all double dutch.

Right, so you've taken a photo and managed to get it into My Pictures on your computer.

First thing you need to do is to 'upload' it onto a website - easier said than done. There are a loads of different sites you can use (including aparently this one but i couldn't get it to work!) - try www.webshots.com and www.benzworld.org . In fact, forget Webshots unless you really need it as it may have been the root problem I had.

You need to register to use the site(s) but once done you can set up your own gallery and upload photos. At some point during the set up the site will ask you to 'Browse' to find the pictures - which is when you need to point it in the direction of 'My Pictures'. All the sites are different so I can't do a general guide but if you need help with a specific one let me know.

Once uploaded go back into the gallery you've just started and open up the new photo (double click) - you need the web (url) address of the photo which you can either get on the address bar on the browser or by right clicking the photo and copying the URL/address from 'Properties'. What you need will start http and end .jpg (probably). (best idea is to highlight the address and CTRL C to copy it precisely)

You now have everything you need from the other site.

Set up a new thread in MBClub (or post a reply) and type "
" where you want the photo to go.(If you've CTRL C'd the address you can CTRL V to past it!!)

The photos should then appear in the post.

However, as you may have gathered from the earlier posts on this thread, it doesn't always work. There may be far better ways of doing this - but this way works for me!!!

Hope this helps... Been written in a rush as off to the Varsity match so I will re-read/clarify later if there are any vague bits.

Hmmmm ..... wheres the Varsity match taking place ?

Thanks for the upload pictures info, will get on that soon

no worries - if you have any difficulty let me know - if you can find a way to **** it up, i probably already have :)
