Lotus name to return to F1?

Lotus F1 car in JPS colours, now that would be worth seeing!

So far no one here has asked what to me is the most relevant question...

What has happened to the marriage between Ferrari and the FIA?

Ferrari have for years pulled all the relevant strings with the FIA and have had their own way, now it looks like this is your typical verymessy divorce where two lovers have decided to air their dirty linen in public.

You are right of course, but as Ferrari has not had things all it's own way the last two years, and this despite the FIA being blatantly biased when it came to disciplinary matters and Mclaren, obviously they have got a bit upset and spat the dummy.
But, Max has had it coming for some time, most F1 insiders laughed and said 'well done Ron and Norbert' when the Max Nazi orgy photos appeared, not long after the whole Mclaren/Ferrari 'spy scandal' blew up, draw your own conclusions there, but FIA decisions have been getting more erratic and illogical by the week, to where now, the teams that have made the show what it is, through good times and bad, are now being treated like they don't matter and have no say.
De Montezemolo's speech at Le Mans yesterday spelled it out pretty fairly, and I hope the rest of the fans, support their stand.
Or do we want F1 to become F3?

Well today's statement from last night's FOTA meeting will cause a big news fuss on Brit GP weekend, but NOT the way Max wanted it - they are calling his bluff and taking their toys away to play somewhere else.
Good on 'em I say. The FIA has repeatedly proved it is no longer relevant or competent and one can't help feeling that Max takes decisions for personal reasons, not based on common sense ("well, they started it - boo-hoo" etc).
Now we can have a proper World Championship, with the big event staying at Silverstone, back to Spa and an American race on a big oval - Indianapolis anyone?
And Bernie and Max can take their new F3F1 show to any third world country that pays whether they have any relevant claim or not.
When it kicks off next year, there will be the great teams racing at the right venues and a second rate circus on the road to Turkey or Bahrain.
Then when Max gets blamed and voted out of the FIA, they will need a new young conciliatory leader (Damon Hill maybe?) to bring the championships back together in a couple of years time.
Let's hope it all works out.

I think GreaseMonkey sums it up perfectly. When I read FOTA's aims, especially lower ticket prices, it did read as though racing would become racing run by racers and thereby for the benefit of the paying public.
I think Eddy J. called it right when he said, it won't stop now until Max is forced to leave the FIA and an appointment is made of someone who can bring it all back together. You can bet Bernie is pushing for that as he will not want to lose his line of cash.

And last night Max stated he may now change his mind and NOT step down as FIA president next October as he had originally promised following the 'Nazi Prostitutes' scandal last year. He says it would be wrong to do so as the FIA needs him.
Ha!
Sir Jackie Stewart (my former boss, and always the voice of reason) has asked Bernie to step in to help resolve it, but he has been unusually quiet so far.

I will tactfully suggest that possibly Sir Jackie Stewart should keep queit regarding this issue. There is history between this p[erson and both Eccles-cake and Herr Mouse-Ley. Sir JackieStewart is certainly not the best person to help resolve this and Bernie isrenowned for sitting on the fence and blaming everyone else for the upsets we regularly witness...

Indianapolis

The whippings

Bernie will sit on the fence and wait.... He will wait to see in which direction the wind blows ..

Just like I keep suggesting... Herr Mouse-Ley will take this issue to the courts and it will be acase of who has the deepest pockets.

For all those that believe we will see cheaper racing..... You are in cuckoo land. The constructorssimply want more of the plum pie
