Is anyone aware that on the latest Mercs, if the fuel level is low, the Air Con stops working? Some dealers appear unaware of this. If the car is put on STAR, it shows AC working but when car is started, AC stops.
A goof idea IMHO. Air Con uses a fair amount of fuel, and auto turning it off will give you more miles, and on a hot day, an indication that you should fill up.
On occasions when I've been running on near fumes, I turn off the air con!
