I've decided to fit some Eibach lowering springs to my 190 so here are some pics I took this morning. Special thanks to Wongl for the spring compressor hire as it was a lot easier than expected with the special tool :bannana:

Hired Spring compressors tool from Wongl for the front springs:

No spring compressors are required for the rear:

Wow what a difference its made lowering it.The before shots make the car look likes its on stilts.Car looks much better now:D

Had someone knicked the engine....

Surely that front springing isn't right?! Before lowering obviously.
Correct me if I am wrong but I suspect the car had been jacked up and then lowered without the car moving. It shows all the attributes of an extended spring placed back on the car without load being applied.

Don't think so the tyres don't looked stressed, and it has just been washed. It even looks too high for jacking and lowering. My guess says incorrect springs fitted at some point.

Wouldn't you need to change the shocks as well? At full extension you could loose a spring, at the rear

Very clean-looking. Very good. Yes it's amazing what lowering can do. Good inspiring example.

The before pics is what it is normally looks like and it has not been jacked up. Although the springs were replaced by a garage 2 years ago due to the bottom coils snapping. Anyway here is a comparison pics of the old and new springs.

As thought, wrong springs fitted.

So how does the car handle now? have you lost any comfort with these springs?

Wow what a difference to the handling its feels more chuckable round corners, less roll and its more stable at higher speeds too:bannana:

As for the ride, I've not really noticed much difference, may be its cos I've still got steelies on:D but I asked the Mrs this morning if she notice anything different and she said not really but she said it felt more stable and I was driving a bit quicker than normal:D

Certain not what I was expecting as I've lowered my brother's Golf Mk3 using H&R springs and SACH shocks and the ride was a lot firmer.

Great job. That looks totaly different, well done
