Got a slight leek in my transmission was thinking of trying out this Lucas Transmission Fix which is supposed to stop leeks. Gets good reviews on amazon. Anyone used it before?

Just get the leak fixed. Leak fix fluids on autos are bad news. It blocks up the oil galleries in the valve body.

transmission fix

Hi

I love these forums, buttttttttttttt - you do get conflicting advice sometimes. I put leak stopper in my 1971 Rolls Silver Shadow and it dramatically reduced the leaks with no problems. It does change up to top and stay there though as it has 6.7lt.s of V8!

Further comments would be nice those with newer gearboxes.

Leak fix products are just seal swellers, possibly nothing more than a vegetable ester product.

I wouldn't think they are a good idea, ATF is pretty low viscosity normally and usually specific in application, so changing it's characteristics could well have adverse side effects.

Leak from my transmission seems to be very slow. I left a roll of white paper below it overnight and no marks on the paper. Had a look under and the bottom is moist so there is a leak of some sort.
Left the lucas transmission fix in the bottle as per the advice on here. There appears to be no feed tube in the engine compartment for the 722 gearbox with my r class. Got a dipstick to try and check it but can't do that either. Waiting to get the car back on the road to get the leak checked.
