What a Trip. 4.5 hrs to do 198 miles. M6 motorway
I have been up to Ian Walkers place http://www.w124works.com/
to get my alternator pulley belts and some other bits done.
Ian likes working on older Mercs but agreed to look at mine,
as i was meant to be in his area .
Ian did a fine job and even said he might consider a diesel sometime :D

Trip up was just over 3 hrs and i got 56.6 mpg
seems to rain a lot up north ;)
Like the house prices though.

Car is running much better so THANKS to Ian

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Hmm 2 diesels in 36 hours and they are beginning to become more desireable, "no stop that Ian". I must be having a mid life crisis, I even have a sil....silv....dull chrome 124 estate at work  I now have the tools to do 203 altenator pulleys, we found that with the right tools it takes but minutes, not the 3 hours we spent trying yesterday. Big thanks goes out to Mb Preston for their support and help. They shipped me the right tool at very short notice. I now have to go and find out how much it was  Very Big Thanks goes to Richard for his patience and understanding. Why is it that the forum member I meet are all nice people?

Ian, I shall stick some diesel in mine and we can try that if you like?
