I have been following this story pretty much since when it happened. It took some years to see more unfolding, with many unanswered questions to this day.

Apologies for the long watch (48min), but this is a story Stephen Kind would normally come up with, only this time, it actually happened.

It really is a crazy story - it's one of those tales that is so strange that if you saw it presented as a drama on TV you'd say it was too far fetched and not realistic.

I think I first saw the M6 part when it was on traffic cops in 2008 and followed the story as it went on.

I remember seeing this on TV.

I can't understand and don't really care what issues the women have, but there's no excuse for mentally scarring a couple of innocent drivers like that. They'll never get that image of hitting a person in their car or truck out of their minds and in that moment the horror that they'd just killed a person must have been terrifying.

Of course, you're right...
I imagine a lot of criminals try to argue reduced culpability in their crimes due to mental illness - in this case there is clear evidence that the girls weren't acting rationally.

It must be very hard for the family of the man who was murdered whilst trying to help one of the sisters - since it seems obvious with hindsight that their behaviour indicated they were a danger to themselves and others.

Opinions all ways vary

Watched it .. not pleasant.

In no particular order.

Hats off to the officers on the front line, cool calm and collected.. Running across the other carriageway… probably not good but instinctive.

If people have a destructive nature it will happen. ( waits for comments!)

I thought the assessment of “NOT that mad” was a little Interesting.

The most irritating point is having the judges hands tied by “low risk”

Not pleasant.

PS, it's not the 'Fast' lane ;)

Wow, very chilling. Didn't really think anything more of it when it happened in 2008 other than it being a tragic suicide pact or through fear of the women being deported or something.

And it's also interesting reading further about the two rare conditions the professor at the end mentions.

I also remember seeing it on TC or MC back in 2008.

Never seen anything like it before or since.

I'm sure I remember the follow up programme a couple of years later.

I'm surprise those conditions are known about given their rarity.
