MAF and gearbox's

How does this unit affect the function of the auto gearbox??? Or am i confused as usual????

Not sure if the 190E even has a MAS in the same way as the more modern cars - The air flow meter on the 190E is mechanical, and the only part of the (spits) bosch K-jetronic FI system that seems reliable.

If you auto box playing up? If its clunking, I have a feeling that by now they all do that.
