new to the club as you may have guessed already. looking for help to a problem which i just can't figure out. i looks as if my pse central locking pump had given in and i have no acces to the boot as i have only just realised that the spade key given to me with the car doesn't fit. any thoughts :wallbash:

Your key is proberly the right one, but the lock access is rusted up.
Liberal use of wd 40 is required to loosen it up, if you can

wd40 and a pair of pliers on the blade key.. lots of wiggling...

Whats this? have you seen SWMBO dancing?

tried and failed. blade key is now turning freely in boot lock but still won't open the boot (think the barrel is turning with catching anything) key doesn't budge in drivers door at all and don't want to force it
any more ideas

yes.. have read your previous post regarding the pump which helped me come to the conclusion that the pump is the problem, can hear it click when i use the lock button on the dash and rear head rest button but nothing happens .. running out of ideas here.. loosing hope too

What year is the car?
What kind of remote control do you have?
Does it work properly?
How many metal key blades do you have?(spade)
With the key in the lock, can it be withdrawn from the lock in any other position other than the horizontal position (12 o’clock = 6 o’clock position)

Your boot may have been locked years ago with a Master Key which may have come with the car, that master key may now be missing, its absence has gone unnoticed until now as the boot has always been locked/unlocked with the remote.

Have you tried pumping the lock with a tennis ball with a slit in it seen it work on a door worth a try.

the car is a 2000
the fob is working as alarm still being armed/disarmed
only have on fob and one blade
the key is only able to extract in 12 & 6 positions

no. i have not tried the tennis ball trick, however will try anything once

Fuse f62. Panel under the drivers side rear seat, look for a yellow 20A fuse in the middle of a few others. I have an S class fuse diagram for my W215, so they must be the same.

Change and open boot, it worked for me, as my metal key was useless in the boot lock as well. If the battery is flat, try charging using the nut on the end of the alternator for +ve, there may be a plastic cap on it, any bare metal for -ve. My PSE pump continued to work a bit until I bit the bullet and had it changed, but that damn fuse kept popping.

the fuse is ok. someone has put a 25amp in the slot, can hear the pump click quietly but doesn't actually open/close anything, thinking of drilling the lock...... bit extreme but out of ideas. thanks for you input

had a look at the post, unfortunatly have no ski hatch and first aid kit is under passanger seat.....
