I've owned my car from new and although very happy with overall performance, there are times when I find the turbo lag a little tiresome. Has anybody had this engine mapped and can tell me how much difference it's made to the throttle response please?
I'm not especially looking for increased performance, although a bit more grunt is always welcome, but really would like a slightly more progressive power delivery, say when an opportunity to overtake a slow moving vehicle suddenly presents itself and you need to get past in a hurry. At the moment I put my foot down and, of course, there is the moments lag before the turbo kicks in followed by the neck snapping acceleration. (Well, relatively neck snapping:D)

How are you finding it in sport mode?

There's probably no cure for the turbo lag, but a remap should address any perceived sluggishness.

Although i am the C320CDI when i bought mine it was the same as yours but after getting used to the car and using the power more it doesn`t do it anymore.

I don`t believe it is turbo lag but that the ECU is adaptive and is used to how you drive then when you want power instantly it has to think before it acts hence what you call turbo lag.

Because i red line mine every time i use it that type of lag is not there at all but instant power.

It is certainly better in Sport mode, since it is more ready to change down when you need the power, but it still feels like there is some turbo lag. It is better than the 320 CLK CDi I had before this, but still more lag than I would like.

You can certainly enhance the power and the turbo lag in the map. In C mode in the gearbox the car is a lot more lively. In S massively so.

You need to reset the TCU if it's automatic, let the car re-learn your driving style. I can't remember the exact procedure but it takes a few moments, it will be online somewhere and it does work

We use Autologic or STAR as part of the procedure.

I'm guessing your method would be the real deal proper way to do it, what would the outcome be?

Method I mentioned is only temporary

That might well be the reason i have instant gear changes as when the ATF was changed it was updated or whatever on STAR as i told the Indy the motor was new to me so i expect he did a reset.
