Hi all, ( for some reason won't let me post on service parts&brakes section using my iPhone)!
I've noticed a few dealers on eBay selling mb branded brake pads.. How good are they compared to the ATE, textar and other oem branded pads you would find on sites like eurocarparts etc ??

I always pick ATE first since , due to MB's policy of sourcing from multiple suppliers you never quite know what is in the blue and white box with the star on it .

I've seen the exact pads online on eBay they just have the star printed on to them..

So they are definitely not one of the branded oem makes.. I didn't know mb did their own pads : /

Indeed !

Mercedes-Benz DO NOT make brake pads ; they are made by their range of suppliers . Some of them will be ATE , others Pagid , some Textar - it is the luck of the draw who made any given box .

So you don't know which of Mercedes' several suppliers made them .

I'll stick with ATE since they have been supplying Mercedes for decades and are of known quality .

If the same policy applied to tyres and the ones from the dealer just came with the Mercedes star but could be any of half a dozen brands , how would you feel about that ?

Mercedes Benz brake pads from MB dealership for the A-Class circa £40, ATE brake pads from Euro Car Parts circa £44 (depending on what discounts . Not much in the price difference, but the MB ones comes with new brake brake clips which the ATE does not always include.

try EBC brake pads, the green ones, unless you drive really fast, then use red ones, better grip and less dust.
