OK, I bought a "MB diagnostic kit" from www.obd-products.com - and it turns out to be rubbish - it doesnt come with the MB diagnostic software to do what it says it will, and the actual hardware doesnt have a multiplexor, so it can not read from the other pins on the OBDII connector or the 38 pin connector that connect to most of the control units in the car. And the CD's it comes with are full of cracked software.
OBD products wont speak to me, so I started the charge back process - but my credit card company need a letter from a "specialised Trades person" compiled on headed note paper (and stamped apropriately).
Is there anyone out there who can do that - preferably a specialist dealer with both Mercedes and diagnostic systems knowledge - the card company says they will reimburse a reasonable fee for the letter. Remember the credit card company's legal dept may write to you !!
(ps, i'll have dodgy access to the net for a couple of weeks, pls can you email me on rpa AT ibex.co.uk)
Cheers
Richard
