Hi. All. I have a problem and was wondering if you people could help. The engine management lamp came on, on investigation the codes said O2 sensor circuit low voltage bank 1 sensor 1, the code was P0131. This is the 3rd sensor that has shorted out like this in the last 7 months. When I checked the sensor and the wiring plug I noticed a small drop of oil in or around the connection, I have run out of ideas, can anyone help please.

You have a much bigger problem.

By the sounds of it the cam magnets have leaked oil up into the engine wiring loom.

I would suspect that if you were to disconnect the plugs at the ecu end you will find these are contaminated with oil.

Hi thanks for your quick reply, I kind of had a suspicion it would be something like that. Could you tell me where the oil would be leaking from, and if you have dealt with this before what needs to happen to rectify it. Also what kind of cost do you think I would be looking at if I took it to an MB garage. Thanks.

Use a specialist like Andy, me or others that sponsor this Forum. It won't be cheap. £1k+ iirc
