I cant find the exact one - will see if I have a link at home but it was from Aliexpress. The speed is fantastic. The hard drive only has Star on it so boots up pretty quick and opens/runs pretty quickly too!

Andy, did you purchase the D630 disk & install it in the Laptop or the external disk & transfer the software ?

He bought it already installed ie you remove the existing HDD and put the new one in, reboot and voila!
Guys, I'm confused, where can I buy the full star package or copy? & how much is the total cost of it all.
Would love to have it to use at my own leisure, I had VCDS for my Seat Leon, but the star system looks much more complicated than just a cable & software?

Cheers, ordered a setup last night with all the leads & D630 hard drive, also ordered a D630 from eBay.
Should all be here later this week, when I get it setup I should be able to transfer my BMW GT1/DIS across to the D630 & use that as my diag laptop

It's not too complex, I'm used to GT1 & DIS which was a pain to setup initially, this shouldn't be too bad as bob6600 said it's a case of buying the laptop & then swapping the hard drive over & then connecting all up (hope it's that method)..

Seems to be an unusually honest website. For all of their "C3" clones they show details that indicate the product is nowhere near a high quality clone.
The price is low though.

If it works then it works, rather than pay the extortionate prices they want for putting it on a computer I'd rather do it myself.

Sorry but I cannot see how that relates to my comment. Or do you expect them to work for a long time if not dead out of the box? That would unlikely be the case. It is only a good investment if the tool works for a long time.
I was by no means against the idea to have a personal diagnosis tool, quite the contrary.
The point is that these are not all the same even if they may look similar. Certain type of products from China are crap and only built to collect money from foolish Western buyers. Better to be careful and pick up the correct product, does not need to be much more expensive.
